Mixed plays vs 100% Premium plays

100% Premium plays cost more and come only from Premium listeners. Some artists prefer them when their existing audience is mostly in markets where Premium is common. Neither option guarantees royalties, algorithmic reach or playlist placement; Spotify calculates royalties under its own rules, including a minimum of 1,000 streams in the previous 12 months before a track generates recorded-music royalties.

Best practices
- Grow in line with organic engagement. A track with a few hundred monthly listeners and suddenly hundreds of thousands of plays looks out of place. Size your orders so they fit your existing saves, followers and listeners.
